Wisdom:
- Feel: "You know, I've done a (drum) clinic in L.A. Nice kids, but they all asked the same question, this "how did you work out that fill?" I told them I don't know. I feel it, it's that particular day, who knows? Just play. Let your personality come out." -Manu Katche...
- Mastery: "You gotta persist... until you come out the other side. Of course, when you come out of it, you find that there's an even bigger hill to climb than the last one." -Allan Holdsworth...

- Teacher-Student: "You get older, you start having hopes for people other than yourself." -Bob Dylan...
- Discipline: "It takes a lot of discipline to be very proficient in your instrument. You gotta really exercise your will power. Reach down really deep within and pull stuff you never knew you had." -Steve Vai...
| Sean Shuffler |
Former writer and touring musician with East Coast entertainment; "I was a late bloomer". Sean didn't pick up the guitar until the age of 17 in high school. "I went to school in the Middle East and had lots of time on my hands". Born in Georgetown, Guyana and later moved to his mother's birthplace; Trinidad and Tobago before migrating to the States. Being from the islands has influenced my style and playing. I will always have to hear the sound of the congas in my music. Whether its rock, jazz or blues those distinctive island percussions seem to fill the void for me. Sean has played and worked as opening act for the finest musicians in the world. Sean has shared the stage with Tuck and Patty, Herbie Hancock and Najee to name a few. At a typical show you're as likely to hear him cover a Steely Dan or a George Benson hit as with Lynyrd Skynyrd or John Mayer. "I never liked to be stuck in a particular genre of music. I play from the heart in anything I do". |
